Kasturbai Gandhi , wife of Mahatma Gandhi, died at Agha Khan Palace, Pune India, while in house arrest during British rule.

1854 - Cowasji Nanabhai Davar started First Cotton Mill named "The Bombay Spinning Mills"

1948 - Birth of Jayalalitha, CM of Tamil Nadu

1958:  Bharat Ratna Abul Kalam Azad  died. First education minister of India.

1967 - Sharad Pawar was elected to legislative assembly from Baramati (Completed 50 years of political service in 2017)

1992 - Present Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis elected to Nagpur Municipal Council. Completed 25 years of political service in 2017
